Taking care of your Quartz watch is essential for maintaining its accuracy, longevity and protecting your investment . Even though Quartz watches are considered low maintenance, there are certain measures you can take to prolong the lifespan of your timepiece for years to come.

Clean your watch with a soft cloth

To keep your watch in good running condition, clean your watch case and the strap on a regular basis. If your watch is not waterproof, use a dry, soft polishing cloth to wipe the case and strap to remove any excessive dirt. If your watch is water resistant, you can clean it by using a damp cloth.

Avoid contact with chemicals

Exposing your watch to chemicals like soap, detergents, cosmetics and perfumes can damage your watch case or strap. Wait until creams or perfume dry completely on your skin before wearing your watch. Also prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading on the watch, so avoid lengthy contact with sunshine.

Service your watch regularly

Ideally, a quartz watches can be serviced every three years. Also, replace a dead battery as soon as possible to avoid the risk of leakage that can cause a serious damage to your watch.

Avoid scratches

It’s only a matter of time before your watch glass or strap shows scratches. To avoid this, remove your watch during activities that could create scratches.

Also, do not wear your bracelets on the same wrist. Wrist jewelry might scratch either the sides or the glass of your watch.

And be careful, do not drop your watch on the ground! In addition to the possible scratches, unexpected impact may cause damage to the crystal, case, and the internal components.
